The Riptide works nicely for small tarpon and big salmon and the Riptide reel truly sets a new standard for fly reel technology and dependability. This is the only reel you will need to chase drum, dorado or shark with a fly rod. The Riptide is constructed from solid aluminum bar stock and it is designed with a hard coated, aluminum main gear that provides heat protection and outstanding strength. The main gear and spool rotate flawlessly on three stainless steel ball bearings.

The concept with this reel is ‘less is more’ and this is very evident with the impregnated cork disc drag system that is the strongest, most reliable and smoothest system on the market. The Riptide weighs only 9.5 ounces and offers a line capacity of 200 yards. The large arbor design of the Riptide enhances the rate of line retrieval which is very important when you are grappling with a defiant fish.

Every Tibor Riptide reel is serialized for identification and protection and comes with a thick, neoprene case for storage.
