Shimano Saragosa

Shimano Saragosa
The Shimano Saragosa heavy duty saltwater reel can handle the punishment of modern jigging and spinning techniques with ease. Every model in this lineup is constructed of a lightweight aluminum frame, a machine handle and graphite rotor (aluminum in the 14000 and 18000 models). The spool sports a titanium lip and a one-piece bail. Every model features no less than 5 SARB bearings and 1 roller bearing.

The Shimano Saragosa is a true work horse if you are out to nail big kingfish or tuna and every species that falls between. If you are looking for a high-end spinning reel and do not want to pay the high price, the Shimano Saragosa reel is the reel for you.

The aluminum, machined handle threads into the direct drive mechanism on these reels to eliminate play and increase power. The Dyna-Balance feature eliminates wobble during retrieve.

If you are going to walk the shorelines, carrying a Shimano Saragosa is no burden whatsoever with the lightweight construction it offers. Another advantage with the Saragosa is the sealed drag. This keeps the junk out of the drag washers to maintain a smooth drag, even if you are waist deep in the surf.

Another huge plus for surfcasters is that Shimano has a manual bail conversion kit that fits the 5000, 6000, 8000, 14000 and 18000 sizes. The Saragosa reels are the only reels on the market that offer a manual bail conversion. The oversize handles make a world of difference when you are cranking in the big one! So whether you are throwing a jig or neck deep in the surf, the Shimano Saragosa reels are built to deliver and take the punishment!
