Ross Airius

The Ross Airius is a top-of-the-line hybrid large arbor fishing fly reel that provides outstanding performance. This reel features a multi-level disc drag system that is super smooth and has a stopping power second to none.

In honor of Ross’s 35th anniversary, the company has brought back a spindle support shaft that is a reflection of the design from their industry favorite, the Gunnison series. This wide diameter shaft gives you outstanding stability and is made out of stainless steel that is incredibly light, strong and safe to use in saltwater. The frame has a spoke design and the spool is ventilated extensively to add to the lightweight feel. The Airius reel will provide you with a lifetime of unparalleled performance.

Every Ross Airius reel is designed with a unique diameter and width that maximizes the properties of the drag consistency and quick line retrieval. A new quick-switch retrieve conversion on the Airius makes changing the direction of the retrieve a snap. The Airius reel is equipped with the newest drag knob design by Ross that gives you secure settings and smooth rotation.

The Airius series reels are manufactured out of bar stock aluminum and these reels possess a maintenance-free, self-lubricating drag system. The reels are anodized so that the perfect balance of color and hardness is achieved. The spool rim is exposed to give you more stopping power and the Vexsis reels have a quick-switch for left hand to right hand retrieve conversions.

The Ross Vexsis reels feature Delrin 500AF with impregnated teflon as the drag material. This high tech polymer is incredibly durable, resistant to heat and designed to last a lifetime.

There are five reels in the Vexsis family, with a fly rod coverage of between 2 weight and 9 weight. The Vexsis reels are designed for all fresh and saltwater fishing environments.
