The Daiwa Coastal features Daiwa’s super corrosion resistant ball bearings and has been specially treated with anti-corrosives to help fight the effects of saltwater so that the reel will run perfectly with just routine maintenance. The multi-disc, fiber composite wet drag provides smooth fish-stopping power. This reel is ideal to nab snapper blues, calicos and reds.

The Coastal baitcast reels apply spool braking only at peak spool speed where it is most needed. This means less friction and smoother casts and it quickly adjusts to any skill level or to varying conditions.

The spool on the Daiwa Coastal reel is of a machined aluminum with a stainless main shaft that is perforated to make it lightweight and to provide quicker startup.

When you hook a fish, you will appreciate the fast 6.3 to 1 retrieve that picks up 28 inches of line per handle turn. The rigid frame will not flex when hauling in those big monsters, so the drive train will stay in perfect alignment at all times.
