As of 2009, Abel has been producing the Super Series fly reels for ten years that have won praise from anglers the world over. The Abel Super Series reels provide the perfect ratio of arbor size to spool diameter and provides a backing capacity unrivaled in a large arbor spool.

Every reel in the Abel Super Series lineup is machined from a solid T-6061 aircraft grade aluminum and features rounded oblong ventilation, giving you outstanding strength and a very low weight. These Abel fly reels have an outgoing click sound which can be easily removed for silent operation. The Super Series reels are available in several colors and with four different wooden handles.

The cork drag system is made from a high grade Portuguese cork and has been treated with neat’s-foot oil. The reel sizes six and larger are built with Abel’s upgraded double pawl system to offer more reliability, back-up strength and a unique sound.

The Abel Super Series reels feature the FlexABELity system that is designed so that you can interchange both the large and standard arbor spools into the identical frame. Every frame in this series accepts both large and standard arbor spools.
